APPLYING TO BE A VOLUNTEER
1. I do not live in the Bay Area. Can I still be a volunteer?
Yes! The College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship will draw interest from around the country, whether it is visiting our region, attending the game or volunteering. However, we cannot assist with travel or accommodation costs.
2. Why do I have to complete a background check?
A background check is required to ensure the safety and security of all our volunteers, fans and guests.
3. Can my family/friends volunteer together?
Yes, as long as your child is a minimum of 18 years of age you are welcome to volunteer together. Make sure to each login and sign up for the same shift dates and times. Please note shifts are first come, first served.
1. Where can I volunteer?
Volunteer positions are available throughout Championship Campus, our affiliated hotels, and very select positions in and around Levi’s® Stadium. Tickets to the national championship game will not be provided to volunteers.
2. When can I volunteer?
Volunteers are required to complete a minimum of three (four-hour) shifts from January 2 to January 8, 2019. However, we encourage volunteers to sign up for more!
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES/ ROLES
1. What are the types of volunteer opportunities?
We will have a variety of volunteer opportunities supporting the CFP National Championship and its ancillary events. Volunteer opportunities include: hospitality support roles, courtesy drivers, Extra Yard 5K positions, hotel greeters and more!
2. Can I request a certain position or will I be assigned one?
You will be able to select your shifts of interest during the application process and we will do our best to accommodate your preference.
3. Can my company’s employees volunteer?
Absolutely! Please email email@example.com indicating your company, how many employees you estimate being interested, any dates or role restrictions that may apply to your group, and your contact information. A Bay Area Host Committee member will reach out to discuss opportunities.
4. Will volunteers be provided with free tickets to the College Football Playoff National Championship?
Unfortunately, there will not be any free tickets available for volunteers, but each volunteer will receive a free ticket to Playoff Fan Central.
1.What are expenses I should expect to plan for my volunteer trip (if traveling to volunteer)?
Everything that you would arrange for on a regularly scheduled trip – lodging, travel, food etc. We are not able to provide accommodations or stipend for volunteers, but still welcome your involvement! We will be able to provide parking validation for those driving to their roles near Championship Campus.
ACCOMODATIONS, UNIFORMS, MEALS
1. Where would you recommend an out of state volunteer stay when I visit?
There are a number of hotels, Airbnb and alternative housing options in the Bay Area, with accessible transportation options throughout the region.
2. Will I receive a volunteer uniform?
Yes, all CFP National Championship volunteers will receive an official volunteer uniform that is yours to keep.
3. Do all volunteers get to be inside Levi’s Stadium during the game?
Very select positions that require additional interviews and experience will be placed inside Levi’s Stadium. These roles include team hosts and media relations volunteer. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and to apply to these select roles.
4. Will I be fed during my shift?
Volunteers will have access to snacks inside the volunteer headquarters, but will not be provided a meal during their four-hour shift. Please plan accordingly to eat before or after your shift.
SELECTION & TRAINING OF VOLUNTEERS
1. How will I be notified if I am accepted as a volunteer?
You will be notified via email. Please ensure that you include your most current email address during the application process. Emails will be sent from email@example.com. Please be sure to check your spam mail if you have not received anything from us after submitting your application.
2. Do I need to attend volunteer training?
Yes, after you complete your interview, all selected volunteers are required to attend an orientation session in December 2018. If you are a volunteer captain, you may be asked to attend additional training as well.
3. When and where will training sessions take place?
The orientation date will be released shortly, but is planned for mid-December.
TIME COMMITMENT FOR VOLUNTEERS
1. What are the dates to volunteer?
Volunteer shifts will be available from January 2 to January 8, 2019.
2. Is there a minimum time commitment?
Yes, a minimum of three (four-hour) shifts is required to be a volunteer. If you cannot commit to the minimum number of shifts, you will not be able to volunteer for the College Football Playoff National Championship.
3. Will I be required to stay for the entire time from January 2 to January 8?
It is up to volunteers to determine the length of their stay if they are from out of town. The minimum number of shifts three, but we encourage volunteers to sign up for more!
